The decision to wear an earring with a gemstone is largely based on occasion and personal preference. Hoops are an alternative to chandeliers if you want to add bulk to your earrings. Buy them ready made or make your own from wire or leftover lengths of beading wire. For really large hoops, use small bracelet memory wire. Another suggestion is to make them tear drop shaped for elegant earrings.
