Easy Grammar Rules APPLICATION description

If you are struggling with Grammar for a long time, then don’t you worry. The Easy Grammar Rules app will provide you with all the information you need to improve your skills.

SAT Grammar Rules
• Sentence Clauses
• Parts of Speech
• Singular, Plural and Possessive
• Wrong Comparisons
• Wrong Modifiers

Finding Nouns, Verbs, and Subjects

• Rule 1. To find the subject and verb, always find the verb first. Then ask who or what performed the verb.
• Rule 2. Sentences can have more than one subject and more than one verb.

Subject-Verb Agreement
A singular subject (she, Tom, cat) takes a singular verb (is, goes, speaks), whereas a plural subject takes a plural verb.

Irregular Verbs
English verbs are either regular or irregular. We call a verb regular when we add ed (wanted, looked) or sometimes just d (created, loved) to form what are called the simple past tense and the past participle. A regular verb's simple past tense and past participle are always identical.

Pronouns
Subject pronouns are also used if they rename the subject. They will follow to be verbs, such as is, are, was, were, am, will be, had been, etc.

Who vs. Whom
Use this he/him method to decide whether who or whom is correct:
he = who
him = whom

Whoever vs. Whomever
To determine whether to use whoever or whomever, the he/him rule in the Who/Whom section applies:
he = whoever
him = whomever

Who, That, Which
Who and sometimes that refer to people. That and which refer to groups or things.

Adjectives and Adverbs

An adjective is a word or set of words that modifies (i.e., describes) a noun or pronoun. Adjectives may come before the word they modify.
Examples:
That is a cute kitten.
He likes a high school senior.

Prepositions

Let's meet before night.
Before is a preposition; night is its object.

We've never met before.
There is no object; before is an adverb modifying met.

Effective Writing
Use active voice whenever possible. Active voice means the subject is performing the verb. Passive voice means the subject receives the action.
