El Rubius es el Youtuber que actualmente tiene más suscriptores en la plataforma de vídeos de Google, tras superar al que hasta el mes de Noviembre del año 2012 era el que más tenía, Willyrex. El nombre real de el Rubius es Rubén y actualmente supera la gran cifra de 7 millones y medio de suscriptores por lo que es ya mundialmente conocido en la plataforma de Youtube para los hispanohablantes. La madre del Rubius es Noruega, como ha dicho varias veces en la red social Twitter, y tiene una hermana. En sus vídeos, ha explicado varias veces como fue su infancia, alternando, Noruega y Madrid hasta acabar de residir en España finalmente.
El RubiusOMG nació el 13 de febrero del año 1990 por lo que a día de hoy tiene una edad de 24 años. El apellido tan raro, evidentemente viene de la madre, cuya nacionalidad es noruega, y su padre
biológico era español. El RubiusOMG vivió durante varios años en Noruega, pero después se mudo a España cuando sus padres se separararon y su madre se volvió a casar con el que el RubiusOMG llama el
padrino.
Después de un tiempo viviendo en España se volvió a mudar a Noruega, pero a la edad de 17 años, Ruben conoció al que actualmente es su mejor amigo, es decir, Mangel. Al parecer y a pesar de que Ruben
vivia en Noruega, visito por varias veces a Mangel. Una amistad que empezó gracias a los video juegos y con ello empezó su andadura en Youtube.
Ambos se animaron a crear un canal de Youtube, pues según ellos se reían bastante, y ahí es cuando crearon sus canales pues pensaban que la gente también se reirían de sus gracias. Después de un
tiempo consiguió mudarse definitivamente a Madrid donde se fue a vivir con Mangel, aunque ahora vive solo, pues dejó el piso donde vivían. (Ahora viven Cheeto y Mangelrogel).
Ruben, alias el RubiusOMG, ha dicho por varias veces que ha trabajado en diferentes sitios durante el verano, y que siempre le han gustado mucho los video juegos, además de tener especial devoción por los animales. Generalmente sube vídeos de juegos como Skyrim, Battlefield o GTA V, ganando poco a poco gran popularidad, considerados por la mayoria de sus seguidores muy graciosos.
