FOREST FIRE Tracker

WARNING: THIS APP IS FOR DEVICES WITH POWERFUL PROCESSORS! It draws many 1000s of points to define fire borders which strains the resources of devices. I recommend at least a dual core processor or you may be waiting while your device grinds away at drawing all of the fires!

Pulls all data from US government sources. The opening screen is a list of fire related weather alerts such as Red Flag Warnings and Watches. These alerts are applied on a county level and sorted by distance from your phone's location.

The map screen displays the before mentioned fire weather alerts and the latest bounds for named wild fires. You must zoom in to view the boundary of a wildfire. The map also displays satellite detected fires across North America. The bounds of any smoke is painted as well when it is available (that data is sporadically released from government sources).

You also have the ability to change the type of base map from Normal Google Map, Hybrid, Terrain, and Satellite. Additionally vehicle traffic overlay can be enabled which may be helpful in an evacuation type of event.

This app is intended for the continental United States NO LONGER SUPPORTING ALASKA DUE TO THE UNPRECEDENTED NUMBER OF FIRES OVERLOADING THE APP.
