GameBench accurately measures the performance and efficiency of mobile devices, apps and games. It’s becoming an industry standard for those who want to optimize their apps and devices for real-world users, as well as for product reviewers and marketers who want to support claims about graphical fluidity, responsiveness and battery life.
GameBench Pro is a performance profiling framework for Android consisting of two parts: an app for recording test sessions on a device, and a web dashboard that lets you visualise and compare test sessions that are uploaded to the cloud. Thanks to this cloud service, you get more detailed test data than our free-of-charge Lite product, and you're also able to test an unlimited number of devices.
The GameBench Pro service is based on the same reliable performance analysis engine as the free-of-charge “Lite” app (available separately on the Play Store), but it’s better tailored for those who want to collect and compare more data:
- NO ROOT REQUIRED
- Get more detailed metrics covering frames-per-second (additionally available as a screen overlay), battery drain rate (and temperature); CPU, GPU and RAM usage, network traffic and touch events
- Visualize test sessions and correlate bottlenecks to screenshots, not only on the test device itself, but also on the more powerful GameBench Pro web dashboard
- Store all of your test data to your GameBench or Google account in the cloud, making it easier to plot, compare and share the impact of device, app or OS updates across multiple sessions
- Get priority support from the GameBench team and first access to new additions to the service
- Support a commercially independent and impartial start-up and help us to make your work easier
KNOWN ISSUES:
CyanogenMod 12 ROM and ROMs based on C12 cause a soft reboot of the device when you begin recording. This is an issue in the C12 codebase, and the developers are aware of the issue.
A note on Android 4.3 devices:
Android 4.3 has issues with screenshots being taken that causes stutters in gameplay. This is an issue in Android itself and unfortunately we have no solution at this time. Due to this, we have disabled screenshots in Android 4.3
About us:
The GameBench app has been developed by GameBench Ltd, a tech start-up based in the UK. Screenshots of sample log are taken from Despicable Me: Minion Rush (DMMR). DMMR is owned and developed by Gameloft, Gameloft retains all rights to DMMR.
