Genesis Greatest Hits APPLICATION description
Genesis is the name of a British rock group formed in 1967. They last released an album in 1997, titled Calling All Stations.
Genesis was founded by Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Peter Gabriel, Anthony Phillips and Chris Stewart. Their first album From Genesis to Revelation (1969), which contains Bee Gees-style pop songs.
In 1970, after they released Trespass, one of its personnel Anthony Phillips left Genesis due to a mismatch in the direction of the intended music. For Banks and Rutherford, this is very influential and almost dispersed. But in the end they decided to find a replacement and simultaneously dismiss drummer John Mayhew. That's when guitarist Steve Hackett came in with drummer Phil Collins.
The first album of Genesis 'new' with this classic formation was titled Nursery Cryme (1971), followed by Foxtrot (1972), Selling England by the Pound (1973), The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974). In (1974) turn Peter Gabriel leave this group and solo career.
Since then Genesis personnel have only four people, and positioned the drummer Collins as his vocalist. Their two albums are released, entitled A Trick of the Tail (1976) and Wind & Wuthering (1977).
In 1977, Steve Hackett quit Genesis, then his work was replaced by Mike Rutherford. At that time Genesis lived three people, who later gave birth to the inspiration album And Then There Were Three (1978).
Next was Phil Collins, who was on his solo lane, leaving Genesis. Replaced position Ray Wilson, although then drowned and dispersed. However Genesis personnel remain in good touch.
