São muito poucos os Centros de Referência em Hepatologia do País e a interdisciplinaridade própria da hepatologia é exercida também com grande dificuldade no Sistema Único de Saúde. Outra finalidade do evento é aprimorar o conhecimento de médicos (hepatologistas, gastroenterologistas e clínicos) além de outros profissionais da área de saúde (enfermeiros/farmacêuticos) no atendimento multidisciplinar ao paciente portador de doenças hepáticas no Sistema Único de Saúde.
