HopeByYourSide APPLICATION description
The app will be assisting the user for potential signs of breast cancer.
This app is being developed as a part of ELC Hackathon. It's main theme is to use technology to End Breast Cancer. #TechInPink2020 #TimeToEndBreastCancer #ELCHackForPink #ELCHackathon
Our approach to the problem statement is to develop an Artificial Intelligence enabled mobile application.
The reason for choosing android mobile application is that, the reach will be global(2.3 Billion Android Smartphones in Use Around the World) and ease of use.
The app will be assisting and monitoring the user for potential signs of breast cancer.
The core features of the mobile app are as follows:
1) Risk assessment:
Enhanced version of Gail algorithm to assess breast cancer risk of users globally. It provides the projected breast cancer risk rate based on user input.
2) Self journaling:
Take notes of breast examination and anomalous events. AI based predictive analysis performed and user will be alerted on any malicious symptom.
3) Breast Scan:
Powered by cognitive image processing processing technique. Use your app to scan your breast for any visual symptoms of breast cancer.
The image inferencing is done totally on-premise for your privacy and your image won't be saved on device or sent to server.
Post scanning, the image will be converted to a sketch(filters will be applied). This can be saved if the user intends to.
The saved sketches will be helpful to track changes in breast over the course of time.
4) Mammogram(Breast X-ray) reviewer:
Select a mammogram image from gallery, the Cognitive AI system incorporated into android will be able to analyze it and give feedback if it is malignant or benign.
This feature works on-premise and the mammogram images won't leave the device unless saved.
5) Helper Chatbot:
AI chat assistant that can answer user's doubts about cancer.
It also periodically reminds the user to take self breast examination.
6) Guide:
Provides information about breast cancer, steps for self examination and latest research breakthroughs.
Thus the app proves to be a potential companion for helping women overcome breast cancer.
The offline features(Breast scan and Mammogram scan) helps the app to be used even in remote regions where internet access is limited or doesn't exist.
