Invisible Histories APPLICATION description
Geolocative visualization of nuclear research mice buried at Niagara Falls site
Developed as an art project, this app gives the user a means to visualize the latent history of irradiated mice used in nuclear research. Site specific to the Niagara Falls Storage Site (NFSS) the app gives the user geo-locative feedback. As the user draws closer to the epicenter - the burial site of 280,000 irradiated mice - a higher volume of animated mice on the users’ screen indicates their proximity. The animated mice function as a compass: they run towards the NFSS.
