Dr.Ahmed Adel Nur-eldin, the author of this book says:
The aim of the book is to provide a simple explanation on the basic rules of Islam in a style that can easily be understood and acted upon on, in addition to a brief account on the Prophet's biography to help the reader know about his tradition in daily transactions as he was the mercy granted by the Lord of all the worlds. There is also a brief account on how the Quran was sent down and how it was collected besides the etiquettes and rules of its recitation. Moreover, the attitude of Islam toward women will be dealt with through a dialogue with a woman who fears to adopt Islam because of her misunderstanding of how Islam deals with women. There are also other chapters that are important for sound understanding of Islam and Muslim's relation to this worldly life.
Why did i write this book?
Recently, I attended an occasion that gave rise to a deep question inside myself. The occasion was a celebration of a French woman who has announced her embracement of Islam in the Sheikdom of al-Azhar. Having finished the ceremony, all were congratulating the lady thinking that this was the happy end of the story. For the woman who had just embraced Islam, however, the matter was different. It was just the beginning. She asked bashfully to have some materials that help her understand and learn the teachings of a religion on whose path she had just made her first step. But the surprise was the painful shortage of such printed materials on religion that are clear and simple and at the same time carries the needed meanings. The available materials are few and their style in conveying the message to the reader is old-fashioned. In addition, the translation is poor from the linguistic aspect, with the result that it does not encourage the reader but rather drives him or her away. What a shame! What could this lady and her likes do in their search for a reliable source that outlines the basic Islamic teachings in a simple modern language without fanatic inclination to a particular school of thought or delving deep into controversial issues. This was the founding reason behind the idea of writing this book.
