Jamaican Reggae Populer

Reggae is a stream of music originally developed in Jamaica in the late '60s. Although often used extensively to name almost any type of Jamaican music, the term reggae more precisely refers to a particular style of music that appears following the development of ska and rocksteady.

Reggae is based on a rhythmic style characterized by an off-beat accent or syncope, called a skank. In general reggae has a slower tempo than ska or rocksteady. Usually in reggae there is accentuation at the second and fourth taps on each bar, with the rhythm guitar also emphasizing the third tap; Or hold the chord on the second tap until the fourth tap is played.
