「灯台守」の灯台守とは人の手で管理する灯台の守人のことです。
「まきびとひつじを」の旋律は古く１７世紀以前から伝えられている、クリスマスの曲です。
「アメイジング・グレイス」は日本でも有名な楽曲のひとつではないでしょうか。
さまざまな歌手が歌い、そして映画やアニメ、ゲームなどでも你われている楽曲です。
「グリーンスリーブス」はイングランドの民謡で、原曲が明らかでなく、正確な歴史は不明なようです。
一説にはヘンリー８世が当時恋人であったアン・ブーリンのために作曲したといわれていますが、それは後の研究で否定されています。
しかし、この歌は今でもヘンリー８世とアンの曲として大衆に知られているようです。
また別の一説では、緑の袖が示すのは、性に奔放な若く乱れた女性とも、あるいは緑は同国の一部地域で妖精や死者の衣装の色ということから、死んでしまった恋人を意味するともいわれています。
