1. Ayat yang Paling Agung dalam Al-Quran
Sebagaimana yang ada pada pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh Rasulullah kepada Ubay bin Ka’ab, “Ayat mana yang paling agung dalam kitabullah?” Ubay menjawab, “Ayat kursi.” Maka beliau Shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam menepuk dada Ubay kemudian berkata, “Wahai Abu Mundzir, semoga engkau berbahagia dengan ilmu yang engkau miliki.” (HR. Muslim).
Ayat Kursi dikategorikan sebagai ayat yang paling agung karena di dalamnya terdapat nama Allah yang paling agung, yaitu Al Hayyu dan Al Qayyum. Namun ulama berselisih pendapat manakah nama Allah yang paling agung.
2. Keagungannya Melebihi Langit dan Bumi
Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda, “Tidaklah Allah menciptakan langit dan bumi melebihi agungnya Ayat Kursi (karena di dalam ayat tersebut telah mencakup Nama dan Sifat Allah)” Sufyan ats-Tsauri berkata, “Sebab ayat kursi merupakan (salah satu) kalamullah (perkataan Allah), sedangkan kalamullah itu lebih agung dari ciptaan Allah yang berupa langit dan bumi” (HR. At-Tirmidzi)
3. Salah Satu Bacaan Dzikir Sebelum Tidur
Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda, “Apabila engkau mendatangi tempat tidur (di malam hari), bacalah Ayat Kursi, niscaya Allah akan senantiasa menjagamu dan setan tidak akan mendekatimu hingga waktu pagi” (HR. Al-Bukhari).Jadikanlah ayat kursi sebagai dzikir rutin yang dibaca ketika hendak tidur. Selain itu, ayat kursi juga termasuk bacaan dzikir pagi dan petang.
