Tony Waluyo Sukmoasih (popularly known as Tony Q or Tony Q Rastafara, born in Semarang, Central Java, April 27, 1961) is an Indonesian reggae singer who has been active in the variety since 1989.
He and his music group Rastafara popularized the term "dreadlocks" in Indonesia through a song with the same title in 1996. Tony Q has become an icon of Indonesian reggae music. He is regarded as the pioneer of reggae in Indonesia, since he has not only been involved in this variety for a long time, but has also developed his own reggae music character, in which he incorporates many traditional Indonesian elements into his music, and hears the distinctive Indonesian themes in his music
Tony Q started his reggae music career since 1989 with Roots Rock Reggae music group. Ordinary gig from cafe to cafe or music performances in Jakarta. After joining with many reggae bands like Exodus and Rastaman, finally in 1994 he formed Rastafara music group which became quite famous as a bearer of the flow of reggae music in Indonesia at that time. Together with Rastafara he had released two albums, namely "Hair Gimbal" (1996) and "Gue Falling In Love" (1997).
