Five Minutes merupakan sebuah grup musik yang berasal dari Kota Kembang Bandung berdiri tahun 1994. Kini, Five Minutes digawangi oleh Ricky Tjahyadi (keyboard), Richie Setiawan (vokal), Drie Warnanta (bass), Roelhilman (gitar), dan Aria Yudhistira (drum).

Pemilihan nama Five Minutes memiliki cerita tersendiri. Ricky menuturkan, band tersebut dibentuk 14 tahun silam. Bermula pada awal tahun 1990-an, ketika Ricky dan Drie membentuk sebuah band yang tampil dari kafe ke kafe di Kota Kembang. Tahun 1994, keduanya mencari personel guna melengkapi formasi untuk mengikuti Festival Band Se- Jabar-DKI di Bandung. Ricky dan Drie mengajak Sonny (gitaris) yang merupakan adik kandung Ricky FM, Sanny (vokalis) dan Dicky (drum) melalui telepon. Dalam tempo kurang dari lima menit, mereka berhasil membentuk sebuah grup band guna mengikuti festival tersebut. Itulah sebabnya mereka menggunakan nama Five Minutes. “Karena prosesnya kurang dari lima menit. Makanya kami memilih nama itu”, tutur Ricky FM. Hebatnya, kendati baru terbentuk, mereka langsung menjuarai festival band yang diikuti oleh 102 peserta dari Bandung dan Jakarta. Keberhasilan itu kemudian mengantarkan mereka masuk dapur rekaman.

Album perdana mereka bertajuk Five Minutes (1995), yang diikuti oleh Five Minutes 2 (1996), Romantik (1997), Ouw! (1997), Sekat (2002), dan The Best +5 (2004). Penampilan yang unik dengan mengenakan sarung di panggung, menjadi salah satu daya tarik mereka. Album perdana bertajuk Five Minutes dirilis pada 1995. Setahun kemudian (tahun 1996), mereka merilis album kedua bertajuk Five Minutes 2. Begitu rilis album ketiga, yaitu Ouw! pada tahun 1997, Dicky yang pada saat itu dipercaya di posisi drum akhirnya mengundurkan diri dari Five Minutes karena adanya perbedaan pendapat. Mulai saat itu Five Minutes hanya beranggotakan empat orang tanpa adanya Dicky. Setelah Dicky meninggalkan Five Minutes, arransemen dan musik drum diisi oleh Ricky untuk menutupi kelemahan dan kekurangan instrumen dalam lagu.

Pada tahun 2004, setelah Five Minutes merilis album The Best + 5, Sanny yang pada saat itu dipercaya sebagai vocal dan dan Sonny yang pada saat itu dipercaya sebagai gitar mengikuti jejak Dicky, yaitu mundur dari Five Minutes. Merasa kewalahan karena kekurangan anggota band, hal tersebut membuat Five Minutes vakum selama 3 tahun. Ricky sendiri tetap aktif d jalur musik. Dia mendukung Ari Lasso (2002-2006), menuliskan sejumlah lagu bagi mantan vokalis band Dewa 19 itu. Beberapa lagu yang ditulis Ricky untuk Ari Lasso adalah Hampa, Arti Cinta, Kedamaian Hati, dan Seandainya. Selain itu dia juga menulis lagu untuk Titi DJ, Rossa, Tere, Sania, dan sebagainya.

Setelah lama vakum, Ricky dan Drie menemukan Richie yang dipercaya untuk mengisi kekosongan vocal, lalu diikuti oleh Roelhilman yang dipercaya untuk mengisi kekosongan gitar, dan Aria Yudhistira untuk mengisi kekosongan drum. Setelah lengkapnya formasi band, akhirnya pada tahun 2007, Five Minutes menerbitkan album Rockmantic dengan suasana musik yang baru dan lebih modern.
