Chrisye sudah disebut penyanyi "legendaris" oleh beberapa jurnalis.Pada tahun 2007, majalah Rolling Stone Indonesia memilih Badai Pasti Berlalu sebagai album Indonesia terbaik sepanjang masa. Tiga album solo Chrisye juga masuk ke daftar tersebut: Sabda Alam di urutan 51, Puspa Indah di urutan 57, dan Resesi di urutan 82. Guruh Gipsy masuk di urutan kedua.
