Learning Styles - Tracksuit APPLICATION description
This is a model of Learning Styles which has its roots in the Personality Types developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katherine Cook Briggs. Within it can also be seen indirect references to the Honey & Mumford learning styles (Activists / Reflectors / Theorists / Pragmatists) and other learning style designations like holist / serialist etc.
The term ‘learning style’ in the context of this model relates more to the match (or mismatch) of personality and the approach to undertaking or providing a learning opportunity. It is likely that if the approach to learning matches the individuals way of thinking, feeling and behaving, this will have an impact on the quality and quantity of what is learned - and make the learning process easier.
If there is a mismatch of the approach to learning and the personality type of the individual however, it may make the learning less comfortable. This app helps you identify which colour combination of Cap / Top / Joggers / Trainers you wear - and from this comes a description of your preferred learning style, and what can help or hinder your learning.
Choosing the relevant colour of 4 tracksuit garments is used as a process to determine your ultimate learning style:
CAP - Where your energy for learning comes from (The external world or you own internal world)
TOP - The type of information you can relate to and acquire most easily (Concrete facts and details or ‘Big picture’ concepts)
JOGGERS - The way you solve problems given as learning activities (Analytical and principle-led or Empathetic and values-led)
TRAINERS - The way you set about undertaking the learning process (Planned and structured or flexible and spontaneous)
