Load Shedding Notifier APPLICATION description
With more than 250,000 followers, the Sharenet Load shedding email alerting service is the first and most widely followed service to receive load-shedding alerts, reminders and schedules.
These features are now available on the Android app. You can program multiple zones such as “Home”, “Work” and “Gym” and the Notifier Application will provide your instantaneous alerts when ESKOM changes the load shedding status as well as 15 minute warnings before your electricity is to be cut or turned back on.
The 15 minute reminders do not require an internet connection to operate once they are set by the initial stage-change alert.
The application will also show on a minimalist screen any of your configured areas, the current ESKOM load-shedding stage as well as the times load-shedding will affect you for the day.
The application has been designed to require very little data and operates just as effectively on EDGE or 3G data connections.
You can run the application in conjunction with your email alerts, but alerts from the application will not be subject to the typical cloud delays of email and is therefore far more real time.
Existing www.loadsheddingalerts.co.za subscribers merely need to enter their email and the Notifier Application will automatically download all their profiles, names and zones. No setup required! Only Ethekwini, City Power, Cape Town and Tshwane municipalities are supported, but we are adding more all the time.
