Mägo de Oz es una banda española de folk metal fundada en mayo de 1988 por el baterista Txus di Fellatio en el barrio Begoña (Madrid). Aunque inicialmente llamada "Transilvania 666" en honor a Iron
Maiden, no sería hasta 1989 cuando pasaría a llamarse Mägo de Oz.
Desde sus inicios se caracterizaron por su heterogénea y peculiar propuesta musical de mezclar el sonido del metal y hard rock tradicional con el de otros estilos tan dispares como la música clásica, el Rock and Roll, el Blues, la música celta, la música folk, entre otros. Sin embargo, la música celta es la que más ha predominado en el sonido de sus canciones hasta la actualidad, y a la que, en parte, deben su enorme éxito. Se han consagrado como una de las bandas más importantes del heavy metal español, saltando al éxito en 1998 con el disco La leyenda de la Mancha, y llegando a las listas de éxitos musicales del país con canciones como «Molinos de viento» o «Fiesta pagana», ésta última de su primer disco conceptual doble, Finisterra.
La fama del grupo y su éxito, tanto en la prensa de música rock como en los medios de comunicación convencionales a nivel nacional e internacional (especialmente en Hispanoamérica), se incrementó mucho más tras la publicación en 2003 del disco Gaia, el primer trabajo de una trilogía conceptual que sería completada con los discos de igual o mayor éxito, Gaia II: La Voz Dormida (2005) y Gaia III: Atlantia (2010). También cabe destacar la escenografía usada en los conciertos, que va desde barcos piratas hasta catedrales medievales, la pirotecnia y varias puestas en escena jamás vistas antes en un grupo español. En el año 2008 se les entregó el disco de diamante por superar el millón de copias vendidas de toda su obra discográfica solamente en España. Se calcula que han vendido más de 2.000.000 de discos entre España e Iberoamérica.
A lo largo de la carrera de Mägo de Oz, la banda ha sufrido numerosos cambios de integrantes, siendo Txus di Fellatio el único miembro original que continúa en la banda.

Diabulus in Musica Wizard of Oz is a Spanish folk metal band founded in May 1988 by drummer Txus di Fellatio in the neighborhood Begoña (Madrid). Although initially called "Transylvania 666" in honor of Iron Maiden, it was not until 1989 when they would be called Wizard of Oz.
Since its inception were characterized by its heterogeneous and peculiar musical proposal to mix the sound of metal and hard traditional rock with other styles as diverse as classical music, Rock and Roll, Blues, Celtic music, folk music, among others. However, Celtic music is the one that has dominated the sound of his songs to date, and which partly owe their huge success. They have established themselves as one of the most important bands of heavy Spanish metal, jumping to success in 1998 with the album The legend of La Mancha, and hitting the music charts in the country with songs like "Windmills" or "Party pagan ", the latter of his first double concept album, Finisterra.
The fame of the group and its success, both in the press of rock music and the mainstream media at the national and international level (especially in Latin America) increased more following the publication in 2003 of the disc Gaia, the first work a conceptual trilogy that would be completed with disks of equal or greater success, Gaia II: Atlantia (2010): the Asleep (2005) and Gaia III Voice. Also noteworthy is the scenery used at concerts, ranging from pirate ships to medieval cathedrals, pyrotechnics and several stagings ever seen before in a Spanish group. In 2008 they were given the diamond wheel by over a million copies sold of all his recording work only in Spain. It is estimated to have sold over 2,000,000 albums between Spain and Latin America.
Throughout the race Wizard of Oz, the band has undergone numerous member changes, Txus di Fellatio being the only original member still in the band.
