MOT History APPLICATION description
The helpful tool means it’s possible to check out second hand cars you’re thinking about buying to see if they have ever failed an MOT, and if so what for. It’s really easy to use, just enter a registration number and press search.
It tells you the mileage each year as well as why the car failed its MOT and any faults that might become a problem in future. You can try it out on any car, even one just driving past you happen to be nosy about. It means you can check out any advisories given with the MOT in previous years even if none appear on the most recent - so it can save you a lot of heartache checking out used cars on eBay or Autotrader.
