New Design Modern Kebaya

In terms of history, kebaya formed the first clothing boss worn Indonesian women, especially Javanese women, who were used with cloth. But at the end of the 19th century, Kebaya Design is also popular as a fashion for Dutch women who need clothing that suits the tropical climate of Indonesia. In addition, the Kebaya Model has also been popular among Chinese peranakan women so it appears the name kebaya encim. Over time, kebaya became a symbol of feminism, a special dress of women who has become a national mode and Model Kebaya Modern.

Over time, Design Kebaya changed and eroded times. In addition, during the Japanese occupation, when the creativity and productivity of the nation was pushed down to the lowest level. the Japanese occupation in Indonesia cut off the trading and textile equipment supporting, many of the kebaya's production houses finally closed and batik only some companies can survive.

Since then, the trail of kebaya is slightly rubbed. The women's freedom fighters who still use the kebaya (mostly Kartini kebaya and kebaya encim), again popularize it, despite having to compete with western dresses are considered to be more "liberating" women from past kebaya symbols that restrict women in corset and long cloth (Model Modern kebaya).

Kebaya is a habitual blouse-dress combination for Indonesian females. The kebaya is also recognized in some Asian countries like Malaysia, Burma, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and Cambodia. It can be made from sheer material and worn with a sarong or batik kain panjang, or other traditional woven garment such as ikat, songket with a colorful motif.

During the nineteenth century, and prior to the Nationalist movement of the early 20th century, the model of kebaya had enjoyed a period of being worn by Indonesian, Eurasian, and European women alike, with trivial style variations. In this time distinguishing class and category was important and produced variants of the basic set of clothes. Now we may appreciate the modern kebaya ( or in Indonesia called as model kebaya modern) that may be made of silk, velvet and brocade.

In Indonesia, especially in Java, Bali and Sunda, the kebaya modern is generally batik which can be from natural stamped cotton to elaborately hand - painted batik tulis embroidered silk with gold thread. In several other areas of Indonesia such as Sumatera, Flores, Lemata Timor, and other islands generally use kain ikat or songket. In Sumba, there is a well-known decorated kain with lau hada: shells and beads.
