About ONAM
Onam is a state festival of Kerala, India. The festival falls during the Malayalam month of Chingam (Aug - Sep) and marks the commemoration of Vamana avatara of Vishnu and the subsequent homecoming of the mythical King Mahabali. In Kerala, it is the festival celebrated with most number of cultural games such as Talappanthukali, Ambeyyal, Kutukutu, Vallamkali, Pulikali etc. Onam is reminiscent of Kerala's agrarian past, as it is considered to be a harvest festival.
Our Game
We are developing a mobile game to show how we celebrated Onam. First phase will be consisting of the collection of florals and the design of The floral carpet, known as ‘Onapookkalam’ in a similar manner North Indians make "Rangoli" which is made of powders of various colors.
Look through your phone and find the floral carpet which you designed, hidden in front of your own home.

This game will be available in Android and iOS. In order to make the game more exiting we have included augmented reality
Onapookkalam is an intricate and colourful arrangement of flowers laid on the floor. Tradition of decorating Pookalam is extremely popular in Kerala and is followed as a ritual in every household during ten-day-long Onam celebrations.
'Pookalam' consists of two words, 'poov' meaning flower and 'kalam' means colour sketches on the ground. It is considered auspicious to prepare Pookalam, also known as 'Aththa-Poo' during the festival of Onam.
How to play
Player can collect the flowers to put pookalam. You can select pookalam designs. You have to collect enough flowers to fill the pookalam . Once you completed a design you can print the marker shown in the game. This marker can be placed in the sit out of your home. View it through your mobile. Amazing!
