OneZoom Tree of Life Explorer APPLICATION description
The tree of life as you’ve never seen it before. Everything is on one page, all you have to do is zoom. A new way to discover the evolutionary history and conservation status of over 22,000 species of amphibian, mammal, reptile and bird.
• Use the multi-touch interface to zoom in and out and explore the tree, also known as a phylogeny
• Discover the dates when different species share a common ancestor
• Colours show the conservation status of each species at a glance
• Choose between common names and Latin names
• Search for your favourite species
• Watch an animation showing how the tree of life grew
• In app links to Wikipedia, ARKive and Encyclopaedia of Life for extensive further information about each species
