PhricK - This program will change the lock screen password and lock the phone...or Phone-Brick it...or PhricK it if your kid ignores your calls. Specifically, if calls are missed or ignored from predetermined (i.e. Mom and Dad's) phone numbers, the phone will "PhricK". The app will even text back to you a link to a map instantly showing your kids location if available. This app was designed by parents (who love programming) for parents to help get your kids attention.

Install on your CHILD's phone, not your own phone!

When the phone is PhricK'd (locked), parents can unlock the phone by giving their kid the new unlock code or by texting the phone to remotely unlock it. Parents can even text their kids phone and tell it to lock (especially helpful if your kid is spending too much time on their phone). When PhricK "unlocks" the phone, the lock screen password is set to a (configurable) value the child can (and should) know so they can access the device. Parents can remotely set the number of missed calls before your kids phone locks, and how long the phone will be locked for (all via simple text messages). The unlock process is on a timer, so, even if you forget, the phone will not be PhricK'd forever, it will unlock itself after the configurable period of time the parent sets. All control of your kids phone is done through simple text messages. Don't worry about forgetting the commands - just text "PhricK help" to your kids phone and it will text you back the instructions!

The Only Thing You Must Do:

Install the software on your child's phone and run the software setup one time. The software has a "wizard" to guide you through configuration and allow you to enable the software. You must have a valid email address and a valid phone number with SMS (text message) capability. Email messages are sent from: [email protected] so that address should be allowed in your email program's spam filter/white list/black list settings. Also, please add your phone number to your kids "Emergency Contacts" (you should have already done this) - it will allow your kid to still call you back even if their phone is locked.

We tested PhricK on our kids' phones. Although they were not happy... a funny thing happened at the mall last week. When Emily received a call from her mom, she answered it because she knew the alternative was losing the use of her phone!
