PledgeEyes APPLICATION description
Register your personal info and upload your video to pledge eyes.
Scale of Problem:
1) One in three blind people in the world is an Indian.
2) In India atleast 3 million can be benefited by corneal transplantation out of which 26%
are children. On an average, the country needs 200,000 corneas in a year, but only
40,000-50,000 are collected and only 50% are good to use.
Root Cause:
1) Unawareness among relatives: Often relatives are unaware and do not support the
cause.
2) High Sentiments: Even if relatives are aware about the pledge, grief and trauma often
makes them ignore the pledge.
3) No online search: Non-existence of an online centralized repository.
SOLUTION:
1)To break barriers of our society.
2)Use mobile to capture info and record video for pledging.
3)Use social media to share.
4)Expose the central repository to hospitals, doctors and individuals.
