Use interactive flashcards and randomized quizzes to memorize the DNA codons, mRNA codons, and tRNA anticodons and their matching amino acids. Flashcards let you guess the answers before you flip them. Quizzes track your learning progress by saving your highest score in each category.

Flashcards

Codon flashcard activities have 64 codon cards with matching amino acids on the back. Amino acid flashcard activities have 21 cards -- one for each amino acid and one for the stop codon -- with all matching codons on the back. You can guess what is on the back of a card and the app will tell you if your guess is correct. You can flip a card at any time.

Quizzes

Quizzes have twenty randomized multiple choice questions that change each time you start a new quiz. Codon quizzes ask you to identify the amino acids that match 20 codons randomly chosen from a full set of 64. Amino acid quizzes ask you to identify a single codon that matches the amino acid in the question. Amino acid names may be repeated during a quiz since some amino acids have more than one corresponding codon. The app will automatically save your high scores, which are viewable from the main menu.
