PSAT Prep APPLICATION description
What is PSAT?
The PSAT/NMSQT, Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. It is a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in the United States. This test won't count towards your college admissions but it determines the eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
PSAT practice test app will help you to study & prepare for your PSAT/NMSQT test. It provides 8 practice papers, containing questions from each category. It contains questions from PSAT test 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. You will be able to review your answer immediately after answering the question.
PSAT is considered as practice for the SAT and ACT and one of the starting points on your college admissions journey. High scoring students may also get scholarship money.
- Sections: Math (No Calculator: 25 Minutes, Calculator: 45 minutes), Evidence-Based Reading (60 minutes) & Writing (35 minutes)
- Frequency: 1 time/year (Test date is generally in October)

There are two sections in the PSAT test, Math, Evidence-Based Reading & Writing, each scored on a scale of 160 - 760. So entire test is scored on a scale of 1520. Average PSAT score is generally in the range of 900-1060 every year. A total score of 1210-1520 is generally considered as good PSAT score and 1070 - 1200 is considered as competitive PSAT score.

Reading: 28, Writing and Language: 32 (Scaled score: (32+28)*10=600)
Math: 34 (Scaled score: (34*10)=680)
Total score: 600 + 680 = 1280
The College Board sends PSAT/NMSQT scores to Schools, Districts (in many cases), States (in many cases). Also, scores help colleges form a clear picture of you & your readiness for the college. It also gives your fair idea of how you will perform in SAT. So do take your PSAT preparations seriously.
This app also covers the questions for the PSAT 10 & PSAT 8/9 test. PSAT 8/9 is offered to eighth graders and high school freshmen to establish a starting point in terms of college and career readiness as students transition to high school. The PSAT 10 is very similar to the PSAT NMSQT. It’s also a practice SAT exam and aligned to the new SAT.
