As an Ex addicted smoker, I quit smoking in 2008 after 10 years of this bad habit, I gradually decreasing the number of cigarettes that I smoke each day is an effective way to quit. But this strategy doesn't work for me, then I start to learn about addiction, and there is 3 types:
1. Physical addiction - Our physical addiction to nicotine
2. Habitual addiction - Think of a bowl of peanuts in front of you
3. Psychological addiction - emotional smoking; both for pleasure and distress.
I motivate myself every night to wake up without smoking even the carving is very tempting, I failed, I restart for almost 1 month but never give up, and one day I did it finally, so the secret is you, if you want you can, and you can.
So this app is only a simple tool, not magical one, it’s a really helpful if you're serious about quitting. it keeps track of multiple things, how much money you saved, how many cigs not smoked etc. It really helps to put it in perspective and helps give me a little extra motivation.
So day by day why you needed to stay strong and resist cravings.
