Desde el memorable Hotel Confluencia, se transmitió la inauguración oficial de LU5 Radio Neuquén, el 10 de abril de 1945, con sede en la Capital del Territorio y en cadena con la Red Argentina de
Emisoras Splendid.
Debido a la precariedad de la prestación del fluido eléctrico se transmitía de por la mañana desde las diez hasta las doce y por la tarde desde las tres hasta las once de la noche.
La torre de transmisión se encontraba ubicada en una chacra cerca del Río Limay que muchas veces se inundó con la crecida del río, el mástil tenía setenta y ocho metros de altura y fue colocado por
los hermanos Porta, afincados en la región. Entre los empleados de la torre, se encontraba siendo un jovencito inteligente y preparado, el vecino actual escribano, escritor e historiador Mauricio
Arabarco.
El primer número vivo artístico fue el de la Orquesta Típica de José Guerro Crespo, que a la vez era el dueño de la propiedad donde funcionaba y funciona en la actualidad la emisora, en la esquina de
Alberdi y Santa Fe.
