Radio Scarborough

Station information:
The station team is made up of Jerry Scott, former BBC Radio York presenter and journalist and fellow directors Dave Simcox and Allan Deacon who both have extensive experience in local business and Scarborough’s charitable and voluntary sectors. Helen Scott is the Company Secretary and Station Coordinator and has, along with Jerry, a history in local radio broadcasting, both here and across the UK.

The station, which is mainly run by volunteers, will broadcast a service that will appeal to an older age group during the day, a weekday evening show created by and for teenagers, programmes featuring Scarborough’s vibrant local music scene and a news and information show for the town’s Eastern European residents.

We also broadcast regular live match updates from all Scarborough Athletic fixtures and hope to provide a junior football results service as well as results from other sports, which listeners will be encouraged to submit, in a Saturday feature, called ‘The Scarborough Classifieds’.

The studio and main office is based at Woodend Creative Workspace in the centre of Scarborough.
