Safe Nav uses UK police data to help you navigate your streets with confidence.

● Get an alert when you enter a high crime area
● Find out more about crime statistics for your area
● Use the app when travelling to stay safe
The app was created by Joshua, Rikardo, Ijahmar, and Callum in their Apps for Good course at Shireland Collegiate Academy in the West Midlands. As urban teenagers surrounded by media about high crime rates and gangs, the team wanted to help others take control of their city streets by giving them access to real data.
Safe Nav won the Connected Communities category sponsored by TalkTalk at the Apps for Good Awards 2014, the national competition for Apps for Good students. As an Apps for Good Awards winner, the team worked with development agency Codeten Ltd to have their app built professionally and launched on to the market, with the support of Apps for Good and TalkTalk.
Apps for Good is an education technology movement where young people learn to create apps that change their world. Apps for Good partners with schools across the UK to deliver its course to young people aged 10-18. Find out more at www.appsforgood.org
