Super Butouden 3 is a retro arcade fighting game featuring 9 playable characters
Features ten playable characters based on the Majin Buu Saga. Unlike its predecessors, there is no story mode in the game. Instead, the Tournament Mode seems to double as the story mode for the game as when a character is crowned the champion, the credits start rolling.

The game has 10 characters, 9 normal and 1 hidden. The hidden character, Future Trunks, can be unlocked with a code.

Story wise, Ultimate Butoden runs from the beginning of the “Z” story with Raditz up through the end of the Majin Boo story arc. Additional stories pulled from the source material are also included, such as Bardock’s assault on Freeza, the Broli movies, and more. “What If?” material tends to focus on specific characters and bizarre scenarios for them. One of the earliest puts Yamcha against some of the major foes… with him dying at the end of each fight no matter what
Many have hysterical cutscenes that play out almost exactly the same as in the original anime, but with - for example - a sparkly Yamcha showing up on a different cliff right as Freeza loses his temper against Kuririn. In this case, you play the match and win as Freeza, and then watch a cutscene play out mirroring Goku attempting to leave a defeated Freeza on Namek.
It is insane, it is crazy, and it is always genuinely funny and interesting. It is the very definition of “fan service” in a way that we just do not see anymore, from developers who love this damn series just as much as their consumers.
