Description of Satellite Detector and Align Satellite Pointer
Finding a television satellite, in azimuth, can be quite difficult. With this app, you do not need a compass, just two (2) GPS locations, satellite dish and a target. Satellite search depends on the accuracy of GPS locations (phone or Google Earth / Maps) and the accuracy and precision with which you can direct the phone to the target. How it works ? In 3 steps or screens:
1- Select the desired television satellite
2- The GPS position of the satellite dish and the GPS position of a target (or reference point) are required. The target may be the GPS position of a house, tree, plant, etc. Simply turn on GPS on your phone or enter GPS locations using Google Earth / Maps (satellite dish position and visible target position).
To indicate how stable the values are, they get a color. RED = not good or not stable, YELLOW = better but not good, GREEN = good or stable, CYAN = do not know. To receive good GPS signals, you should be away. GPS signals can be blocked by buildings, trees, etc., resulting in false GPS locations with an error of several meters while accuracy is good.
3- Adjust the elevation of the dish and tilt it to the calculated values, see screen 3. The satellite pole must be straight. With the GPS locations set, hold the phone firmly above the satellite dish and point the center arrow at the target. Then direct the satellite arm to the arrow called "satellite".
