First time users will be prompted to enter their vehicles mile per gallon (mpg), gas type (Standard, Midgrade, Premium, Diesel), & zip code.
We ask for your zip code to get the average gas prices in your area for the most precise approximation for the cost of your trip.
In ScoopMe: Car Ride Costs, you will be able to get the cost of your trip using mpg, gas type, & zip code. After you enter a "driver starting point" and "driver destination point", you can begin calculating the cost of your car trip. You may enable location services for this app to get the current location of your driver starting point just by clicking on the text box.
ScoopMe: Car Ride Costs will draw the fastest route from your starting point to destination point. Then, we take the distance of that route to calculate the cost of your trip in dollars.
Also, you can add a passenger if you want! After you add a passenger's pickup and destination point. We will calculate the shortest route for picking up your passenger and getting them to their destination. If you decide to add a passenger to your car trip, we will show you the total cost of the trip and the passenger's cost of the trip. However, passenger cost can vary because usually the driver has to go out of their way to pickup a passenger.
You can always edit your mpg, gas type, and zip code to keep up to date with an achieving a precise gas price calculation.
