SharedHeritage APPLICATION description
Raising awareness of our European shared cultural heritage
This is an Android application which tries to raise awareness of our European shared cultural heritage through the user’s discovery and engagement with common memories and traditions, common history, etc.
The proposed application promotes and facilitates in some way the collaborative curation of stories by people from different areas (preferably different countries) in order to come up with a single virtual exhibition which will uncover similarities in the cultural heritage of the various European countries.
More specifically, this Android Application has been built on top of Pluggy Social Platform (https://beta.pluggy.eu/ ) which is a novel tool that allows users to build virtual exhibitions around topics they think are important. The collections of these Virtual Exhibitions form Virtual Museums, curated and experienced by virtual heritage communities. Before playing this game, visit the aforementioned platform to familiarize yourself a little bit with the context (exhibitions, assets, etc.) and also to create there your own content.
The goal of this game through this App is to enhance already stored virtual exhibitions, with chapters that come from different countries.
So, the steps are the following.
1) The most important step is to visit first the Pluggy Social Platform: https://beta.pluggy.eu and build there some virtual exhibitions (Blog Stories). Then Publish them! Don’t forget to add tags for the Exhibition and locations for each of its chapters!! Build as many exhibitions as possible in order to have bigger chance to win this game!
2) Open up this app and take photos in case of something interesting . Then tag them and upload them to Pluggy Platform (see above)
3) Press the button “Assets to invite” in order to search for users from other countries to propose them to link their assets (mainly photos) to your virtual exhibitions (blog story). If they agree, they will be asked through the App to create a new chapter with a photo in order to link this with your exhibition. The exhibition then will have relevant content from one more different country and you will get 3 points!! as the exhibition owner.
3) If you think you are a little bit lazy, just open the app and wait for notifications. Someone else may ask you to link your foreign asset to their exhibition. If you do so you will get one point as the asset owner.
This app recognizes all your exhibitions and assets that are stored in https://beta.pluggy.eu (Pluggy Social Platform), even if you did not upload them through this App).
However, you only get points only through collaboration by using this App.
