Habib Syech bin Abdul Qodir bin Abdurrahman Assegaf . Beliau adalah tokoh Alim dan Imam Masjid Assegaf yang berada di Pasar Kliwon kota Solo. Berawal dari Pendidikan dari guru besarnya sekaligus Ayahanda, Habib Syech bin Abdul Qodir Assegaf mendalami Ilmu agama berlanjut ke paman beliau Alm. Habib Ahmad bin Abdurrahman Assegaf yang datang dari Hadramaut. Habib Syech juga mendapat pendidikan, dukungan penuh dan perhatian dari Alm. Al-Imam Al-Arifbillah, Al-Habib Anis bin Alwiy Al-Habsyi “Imam Masjid Riyadh dan pemegang magom Al-Habsyi”. Berawal dari dukungan beliau, Habib Syech bin Abdul Qodir Assegaf mensyiarkan sekaligus mengumandangkan Sholawat Nabi yang berawal di kota Solo. Dengan penuh keyakinan dan niat lillahi ta’ala, perkembangan syi’ar sholawat beliau sampai saat ini semakin pesat. Namun hal ini juga tak terlepas dari peran serta Majelis Ahbabul Musthofa.
Majelis Ahbabul Musthofa sendiri berdiri sekitar tahun 1998 di kota Solo, tepatnya di kampung Mertodranan. Berawal dari majelis Rotibul Haddad dan Burdah serta maulid Simthut Duror, Habib Syech bin Abdul Qadir Assegaf memulai langkahnya untuk mengajak ummat dan dirinya dalam membesarkan rasa cinta kepada junjungan kita nabi besar Muhammad SAW melalui lantunan sholawat.
Perjalanan hidup Habib kelahiran Solo, 20 September 1961, ini cukup berliku. Beliau pernah jaya sebagai pedagang tapi kemudian bangkrut. Di saat sulit itu, justru Sang Habib tampil melakukan dakwah menggunakan “kereta angin” ke pelosok-pelosok untuk melaksanakan tugas dari sang guru, almarhum Habib Anis bin Alwi Alhabsyi, imam masjid Riyadh, Gurawan, Solo. Pada saat itu Habib Syekh bin Abdul Qadir Asseggaf juga sering diejek sebagai orang yang tidak punya pekerjaan dan habib jadi-jadian. Namun Habib Syekh tidak pernah marah atau mendendam kepada orang yang mengejeknya. Justru sebaliknya, beliau tetap tersenyum dan terkadang berderma (memberi sesuatu) kepada orang tersebut.
