Surfboard or surfboard is a long board used by surfers to stand in the water and maneuver when faced with the waves. First created by ancient Hawaiians, surfboards were then made from koa trees (Acacia koa), endemic plants of the Hawaiian Islands, with board lengths up to 5 meters (15 feet). Because it is made of wood, ancient surfboards were very heavy. Along with the development of technology, shapes and materials making surfboards were growing rapidly from wood into fiberglass or epoxy so that it becomes lighter but still strong to crashing the waves.
