Características

Mede entre 15 e 18 centímetros de comprimento e pesa entre 45 e 59 gramas.
No nordeste, a plumagem é toda branca, vindo daí um dos nomes comuns.
No Pantanal, domina um tom pardo-amarronzado.
Na asa, a listra escura (iridescente, sob ótimas condições de luz) é característica.

Hábitos

É comum em regiões semi-abertas, capoeiras, beiras de matas mesófilas,
matas secas, cerrados, plantações, campos e pastos sujos ou “tigueras”.
Aparece nas proximidades da orla marítima nos campos litorâneos.
