Steve Oriet APPLICATION description
Steve Oriet, friends call me Steve O, born and raised in River Canard/Lasalle Ontario Canada. I currently live in Windsor Ontario and make a living as an entrepreneurial personal trainer.
I grew up listening to all gendras of music, everything from rock to pop to rap and country, but didn't have any real musical influences growing up that I wanted to be like some day. In fact, my father is and was always my biggest inspiration because he balanced an incredible business life with being a very talented guitar player and singer, and I loved listening to him play at weddings, churches, family gatherings, and that's and he is the reason my deep appreciation and love of music grew.
When I hit 17 my buddy and I took a sporadic road trip to Grandbend Ontario for the weekend and on t driving there he cranked up some music I absolutely loved, and it was all Tim McGraw and Kenney Chesney. I didn't really know who those guys were but from that point on I was hooked and in love with country music and that's all I wanted to listen to.
When I was 19 years old I went with my family to a wedding in Kingston Ontario, we stayed at the Holiday Inn, and while I was relaxing in my parents room having a beer with my Dad we were listening to CMT and Jason Aldean's new song “Why” being played and I turned and said to my Dad “I gotta learn to play the guitar so I can play this song”. The next day after the wedding, we embarked on a 6 hour drive home and all I wanted to talk about was playing the guitar. We arrived home around 12 midnight and I immediately ran into the back room and grabbed my fathers 6 string
Washburn acoustic and gave it to him and said “teach me”. He taught me an E minor and a C chord and said “learn these 2 chords first, and the I'll teach you more”. I stayed up until 4:30 in the morning practicing hose chords, and every day from then on, I was hooked.
I have started writing music Presently the top ten country artists are writing and producing some unbelievable music, and I really enjoy studying bands and solo artists and learning from their success but acknowledging and keeping my personal skill sets.
Currently I am heading down to Nashville in March 2017 to collaborate and write with David Norris and some other prominent writers and to record with Nashville's top studio Daredevil with the world wide release following soon.
