Surah Talaq (سورة الطلاق‎‎) with Urdu Translation

Surat at-Talaq (Arabic: سورة الطلاق‎, "Divorce") is the 65th surah of the Qur'an (Quran / Quraan) with 12 ayat. At-Talaq is not only the name of this Surah but also the title of its subject matter, as it contains commandments about Talaq (divorce) itself. Abdullah ibn Masud has described it as the shorter surah An-Nisa. The surah also defines the time period of Iddah to be three menstruation periods. For pre-menarche girls and for post-menopause women - three months. In case of pregnancy, after the delivery of the child.

After addressing the topic of divorce and a number of other resulting family issues in first 7 verses. The surah then strongly urges people to observe God’s regulations and guidance, and reminded the fate of earlier disobedient people that the apostate and disobedient were chastised for their sin. The 11th verse describe the required attitude of the true believers that they exhort to faith in messenger and the regarding bounties. Finally God’s power and knowledge are emphasized at the end.

Reward of reciting Surah Talaq:
1. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) said: One who recites Surah Talaq dies on the Sunnah (Practice) of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.).
2. Imam as-Sadiq (a.s.) said: One who recites Surat Talaq and Tehrim in obligatory prayer, Allah would keep him in His refuge from what he fears or is aggrieved on the Day of Judgment and save him from the Fire and Allah would admit him into Paradise due to his reciting the two Surahs, and accord him protection because the
two Surahs are related to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.).
Surah at-Talaq (The Divorce)
This Surah was revealed in Madinah and it has 12 verses. Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) has said that if Surah at Talaq and Surah at-Tehreem are recited in the faraa’idh then the reciter will be protected by Allah (S.w.T.) from the fear of the Day of Judgement and he will enter Jannah.
In another narration it is said that the one who recites this Surah will be given the inspiration to perform Tawbatan Nasuha (the sincere repentance to Allah [s.w.t.]).

i) Whoso recites this surah and surah al Tahrim (Tahreem) in his obligatory functions would be kept protected from fear and grief on the day of reckoning; he would go to paradise because these two surah are particularly related to the Holy Prophet.
ii) Whoso recites this surah Allah would prompt him to turn sincerely repentant unto Allah.
