Once upon a time there was a boring and colorless world full of cranky monsters; nobody laughed and nobody smiled…the monsters didn’t even know what a laugh sounded like! Everything is dark and dreary until Koa, a happy little monster, meets the oldest, crankiest monster in the land. The big old monster is confused by Koa’s laugh; he’d never heard anything like it before! He’s also surprised to discover that when Koa laughs, everything around him becomes colorful!
