TLC Greatest Hits APPLICATION description

Early 1990s, precisely in 1990, in the City of Atlanta, Georgia, USA, stood a group of R & B girls trio, Hip Hop, which will then always be remembered as one of the iconic development of the music world in the 1990s. Yes, the TLC, the name of the trio's group, began in form in early 1990. Started from a teenage girl named Crystal Jones, who wanted to form a group vocal trio. The desire of Crystal Jones, gained acclaim from two people named, Tionne Watkins, who since childhood moved from Des Moines, Iowa, to Atlanta, with her family, and Lisa Lopes, a girl raper, who left her hometown of Philadelphia, to pursue her dream become a musician with only a keyboard, and money of $ 750. The audition for the group was performed by an R & B musician, Perri Reid. Perri, along with her husband L. A Reid, later became manager for the trio group. Perri, also gave the group a name, TLC. The name is taken from the front letter of each member. As time went by, the Reid duo saw the tremendous potential of Tionne Watkins, and Lisa Lopes, but they were forced to find a replacement for Crystal Jones, which they thought was a potential lack, and could cause the dream of two other members to run aground. After going through a rigorous selection process, a part-time dancer from Damian Dame's band, Rozonda Thomas, was chosen to replace Crystal Jones. Because the front letter is not the same, the Reid duo, it gives the nickname "Chilli", for Rozonda, and Tionne Watkins, gets the nickname "T-Boz", and Lisa Lopes, nicknamed "Left Eye". It was with this formation that TLC then entered the recording studio in early 1991. Under the LaFace record label Arista, owned by Kenneth "Baby Face" Edmonds, became one of the factors considered to be a controller for the development of this trio because they got a mentor that is topnotch.

At the end of 1991, precisely in August 1991, they released their first album, "Oooooohohhh ... On the TLC Tip". The album gained sales success with more than 4 million copies sold in America. Music critics also praised the appearance of TLC, which they regarded as a perfect blend of Funk, Hip-Hop and R & B music, in one beautiful package. After gaining success on the first album, various trials began to arrive for the three girls, who now have the status as a celebrity. However, the most difficult trials come for Lisa Lopes, who must enter rehab for alcohol dependence. Not only that, Lisa, who was then in a relationship with an American Football star, Andre Rison, also had to end his relationship because of violence committed by Andre. But, in the middle of the ripples, TLC, keep walking. The entire TLC crew, from members, and the team manager support Lisa, and that's exactly what Lisa needs, to get through that dark time. The struggle of the entire TLC crew, eventually ended sweetly with the release of their second album in November 1994, entitled, "CrazySexyCool", is still under the same record label. This album is the culmination of the trio's success. The flagship singles on this album such as "Creep" and "Waterfalls" bring them great success not just in sales, reaching 11 million copies in America alone, and over 25 million copies worldwide.
