Unity FM St Lucia APPLICATION description
Unity FM is on of St Lucia top hits radio station Playing today's BEST MUSIC MIX! and bringing Caribbean people together.
What Are We.
Unity FM St.Lucia is a newly established 24 hour a day radio station which is at present broadcasting online at www.unityfmstlucia.com. However, management is in the process of providing permanent headquarters to allow for full operation. This we expect will be done soon. in the vicinity of Castries.
We understand that the economic climate in which we currently live makes it difficult for companies to provide sponsorship in traditional ways and, therefore, will accept any means of support that is convenient to you.
Our Mission.
Unity FM will be a radio station with a unique identity. This will mostly be due to its programming. While essential services like news, sports, community notices and obituaries will be provided, a greater attempt will be made to add depth and context to them. Many other programmers will in an interactive way - highlight and embrace various facets of development and community life in as many settlements around the island as possible. A special attempt will be made to feature organizations such as mothers’ and fathers’ groups, sports clubs, youth organizations, fund raising ventures and even things like roadside barbecues and karaoke shows to mention just a few.
At UnityFM we understand the power of language and therefore will provide programming bilingually with emphasis on specific kweyol programmers and news. A wide range of musical genres will be featured but at airtime that are likely to be appeal to the aficionados of each one. We also intend to observe the strictest production values guiding our announcers and DJs to adopt both traditional and modern presentation styles.
Our flagship programme is entitled-Real Talk, a 45 minute discussion with a studio guest highlighting personal life experiences, achievements, challenges, successes to name a few.
Voice of the People is another programme where parliamentarians, community workers, NGO representatives, etc, will be invited to answer to the public regarding their responsibilities and the services they provide. it will put the issues currently confronting the society under Unity FM’s microscope. These experts, will be expected to dissect complex issues in a way that everyday people can understand.
Know Your Rights- For this programme we will invite legal professionals to discuss legal issues and provide guidelines on various legal matters and how they impact the public. This also be a calling programme.
Community Outreach- This programme will highlight community activities island wide, utilizing the expertise of community activists, members of various groups, etc.
