Considering the depleting ground water table, and increasing environmental & health issues in Punjab, paddy diversification is becoming the need of the hour. In order to overcome these challenges, Govt. of Punjab for the first time is going to take a series of concrete efforts to support farmers and among those, crop diversification has given the top priority. For this, it is critical to expand extension services in the state. Therefore, as per the direction by Honourable Chief Minister of Punjab, around 2500 Kisan Mitra & 150+ Block Supervisors (BSc. Agriculture graduate) have been hired in the 4-core cotton (Bathinda, Fazilka, Mansa & Sri Muktsar Sahib) & 5-core Basmati (Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Firozpur, & Tran Taran) districts by the Department of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Govt. of Punjab to provide extensive handholding and support to the farmers in transitioning to other crops. This app is going to monitor the Kisan Mitra & Block Supervisors working on ground in these 8 districts, apart from this it will also support the both with some key information regarding the same.
