Uzunköprü Ticaret Borsası

Türkiye’de Ticaret Borsaları, 5174 sayılı Türkiye Odalar ve Borsalar Birliği ile Odalar ve Borsalar Kanununda yazılı esaslar çerçevesinde Borsaya dâhil maddelerin alım-satımı ve Borsada oluşan fiyatlarının tespit, tescil ve ilanı işleriyle meşgul olmak üzere kurulan kamu tüzel kişiliğine sahip kurumlardır. Ticaret Borsaları, bulundukları yerlerde üretimi, tüketimi ve pazarlaması yeterli kapasitede olan ve bu sebeple Borsaya kota edilmiş olan maddelerin alım-satımının ve fiyatlarının serbest rekabet düzeni içinde tespit ve ilanı işleriyle meşgul olan organize pazarlar olduğundan Ticaret Borsalarının varlığı bir anlamda maddeye bağlı olmaktadır. Bu özelliği ile Ticaret Borsaları serbest piyasa ekonomisi sisteminin önemli bir unsuru olmaktadır.
Borsa kurumu ilk kez 15. yüzyılda Fransa, Almanya ve İtalya'nın büyük ticaret kentlerinde kurulmuştur. Türkiye'de ise ilk borsa 2 Aralık 1873 tarihli kararname ile “Dersaadet Tahvilat Borsası" adıyla İstanbul'da kurulmuştur. 15 Nisan 1886 tarihinde kabul edilen “Umum Borsalar Tüzüğü” ile Türkiye çapında Ticaret Borsalarının kurulması olanakları sağlanmış, ilk Ticaret Borsası 1892 yılında İzmir'de “İzmir Ticaret ve Sanayi Borsası” adı altında kurulmuştur.
Uzunköprü'de, 655 sayılı yasa ve tüzüğe göre “Uzunköprü Ticaret Borsası” 1925 yılında kuruldu ve 1926 yılında çalışmaya açıldı. Türkiye’de ilk kurulan borsalardandır. Ancak gelir yetersizliğinden dolayı bu dönemde uzun ömürlü olmamış, 7 yıl sonra kapatılmıştır. İkinci defa, 30 Mart 1936 tarih ve 2/4276 Bakanlar Kurulu Kararı ile yeniden kurulan Uzunköprü Ticaret Borsası, aynı yıl içinde faaliyete geçmiştir. İlk kuruluş tarihine göre, Uzunköprü Ticaret Borsası yurdumuzda kurulan borsaların 10'uncusu, 2. kuruluş tarihine göre de 19'uncusudur.
