VibeMaker (Demo) APPLICATION description

The VibeMaker is part of the VibePlayer project. The VibePlayer app allows you to experience music physically in vibrations. The VibeMaker app is the creation component that allows you to create the vibration patterns to be used with the VibePlayer app.

The VibeMaker app currently supports two options. The app will allow you to create vibration patterns for the default audio track, which is included in the VibePlayer. Though, you also have the option to use a personal audio track with it. All you need to do is rename your audio file into vibemaker.mp3, and place it at the root of your storage. The app will choose your audio track instead of the default one.

This is only a demo for the app and it has a very basic interface. The full version will have an intuitive interface with more options. The app is released in its current state, to allow the users to experience what the project is all about. You will be able to select a song, for example, and create a vibration pattern for it, and then enjoy it on the VibePlayer.

The demo is easy and fun to use. If you like tapping on a surface, while listening to a song, then you already know how to use this app. The idea is simple. You listen to an audio track, e.g. a song, and you tap inside a box within the application, like you are tapping on any surface. When you are done, you save. That is it.

Here is a step by step guide for using the app:
1. First of all, you need to decide. Will you be using the default audio track or your personal track.
2. If you are going to use the default track, you won't need to do anything prior to the recording. Though, if you want to use your own track, you will need to rename the audio track, e.g. song, of choice to vibemaker.mp3 and place it at the root of your storage.
3. After launching the app, confirm the message on start by tapping "Ok."
4. Press "Play" to play the audio track. The recording will also start, as soon as you tap "Play."
5. Above the "Play" button you will notice a dashed box labeled "Tap Here." This is your tapping surface.
6. You need to tap inside the box, like you are actually playing the song in taps. For example, if a song has a guitar note happening at the first second and lasting for two seconds, you will tap the box at the first second and release your finger after two seconds. The box supports short taps, long taps, and also tap spamming. The box is very sensitive, so do not linger on it beyond the musical note(s).
7. When you are done with tapping, tap the "Save" button to save the vibration pattern. If you have a Marshmallow or a more recent device, the app will ask if you want to allow it access to storage. So, make sure you accept, or the vibration pattern will not be saved.
8. Now, luanch the VibePlayer app. If you do not have it, go ahead and get it from the store. After launching the VibePlayer app you will notice one or two tracks, depending on whether or not you used a personal audio track. If you went with the default track, you will see the default track in VibePlayer named "Vibration Sample." If you have picked a personal track, you will also find another track named "VibeMaker Track." Keep in mind that the "Vibration Sample" track already has a vibration pattern included with it. The VibePlayer app will use that default vibration pattern, unless you created a vibration pattern for the default track on VibeMaker. In that case, the player will use your vibration pattern instead.

The VibeMaker app supports Lollipop devices and above. The VibePlayer app works for Jelly Bean and recent devices. You can use a Lollipop emulator to create vibration patterns, if you have an old device. Then, copy the .vibs files placed on storage root, to the root of of your device.

Check the sensations.tech website for more information about the project. I will be relaunching my Indiegogo campaign for supporting the project, soon.

The audio track within the app was created using the DJ Dubstep Music Maker Pad application.
