Avant que William Benhamou, né en 1988, s'engage dans la peinture et en fasse sa principale passion artistique, il a réalisé de nombreuses œuvres tant en photographie, qu'en vidéo ou en écrit.
Sa principale devise appliquée à l'ensemble de son travail est de "Rendre à l'ART la simplicité de ne pas l'être".wb

Issu de l'école d'art MJM Graphic Design, il se lance à la découverte de l'expression libre à travers tous types de supports lui permettant de "hurler en silence une pensée pour être comprise dans le bruit."wb
Il trouvera pendant un temps son inspiration dans la réalisation de films abstraits lui permettant de s'essayer à l'exercice du partage émotionnel, mais aussi à la photographie qui à contrario lui ont permis d'apprendre à figer un sentiment, c'est donc naturellement qu'il évolua vers la peinture afin de fusionner les techniques.

Lorsque William Benhamou tombe amoureux de la peinture, il peint ses premières toiles sur des panneaux publicitaires trouvés dans la rue, lui donnant le goût des grands supports.
Il y a dans ses toiles une sensibilité électrique ainsi qu'une passion palpable dans chacun de ses traits qui ont évolué au fil des années, notables par la progression de ses inspirations Pop-Art qui tire aujourd'hui vers un mélange de Street-Art accompagné d'une pointe de Dadaïsme.

La maturité de son art l'incite à figer les instants d'une réalité afin de les mélanger à sa palette de rêverie dans le but "d'offrir une existence centenaire à un sentiment passager"wb ce qui lui donne la liberté d'allier une œuvre de Piet Mondrian avec l'urinoir de Marcel Duchamp.
Derrière les œuvres de William Benhamou se cache une véritable démarche artistique personnelle qui se traduit par cette phrase qu'il rétorqua à la question,

-pourquoi peignez-vous ?

«Je peins pour me libérer de ce sentiment que je peins pour comprendre».

When William Benhamou falls in love with painting, he painted his first paintings on billboards found on the street, giving him a taste of the major media.
There is in his paintings an electrical sensitivity and a palpable passion in each of the traits that have evolved over the years, notable by the progress of his inspirations Pop Art that takes today to a mixture of Street-Art accompanied a touch of Dada.

The maturity of his art makes him freeze moments of reality to mix with its range of reverie in order to "provide a centenary existence a fleeting feeling" wb which gives him the freedom to combine a work of Piet Mondrian with Marcel Duchamp's urinal.
