Fiction Writing Prompts

The aim of Fiction Writing Prompts is to support your creativity with images, suggestions and starting points that you can incorporate in your own short stories, novels, or any other form of fiction writing you practice.

The prompts have been selected and worded with the goal of being at the same time inspiring, and yet providing enough room for each writer to develop them in their own way according to their style and interests. The app has been developed by an actual fiction writer, awarded author and big book buff himself, in the hope that some of the ideas can result in new stuff getting through the door, and perhaps published somewhere...

Suitable for fiction writers of all ages and levels, the prompts include both straightforward theme suggestions (images to develop, possible conflicts, ideas for dialogues...) and more technical ideas (modifications in structure, word games, genre crossovers). All the prompts can be put to use right away, but you are also invited to modify them, group, invert or combine them in any way that you find creative; whatever works to break the so dreaded writer's block.

Getting started, in writing, is often half the battle, and perhaps that's even truer for fiction writing, where you don't have a designated subject and therefore so many options are available. This app will provide you with that initial subject; just keep receiving "delivery orders" until you find the one that you want to "take"... If you have ever stared at a blank paper or word processor document, trying to write but not knowing where to head at first, this app will help you get "in the zone"...
