Dog Training Whistle

Teach your dog the desired behavior by using the whistle sound together with spoken command and with a gesture.

For example:
SIT is one of very often used and useful commands.
- to teach the dog to sit play the sound on the phone and say “sit” at the same time making a downwards gesture with your hand. You can push the dog back to the ground to make her sit if she does not know the command yet.

COME is absolutely essential in your dog training
- to make the dog come play a sound and say “come” and with your right hand pat your thigh. You can start training in a large room when the dog is far from you. Issue the command and show her a treat. Reward her with this treat when she comes.

FIND is useful but also a good way to have fun with your dog
- tie a treat to a string and drag it on the ground over a dozen yards to finally hide it. Then let the dog sniff your fingers and issue the command. The treat itself is the reward, but you can reward her additionally by saying “good doggy”.

How to associate sound with expected behavior.

1. Whistle (and say command or do gesture)
2. Make your dog to the thing (for example press dog back down to make her sit)
3. Reward your dog (with caress or tasty treat)
4. Repeat.

Don’t use violence. Keep training sessions short up to about 15 min. Dogs like kids don’t have long attention span. To make things interesting try doing about 5 repetitions of one behavior and then 5 repetitions of another behavior

Always use same sound or sound pattern for given behavior. Like you always need to use same spoken command. For example you say “sit”. You shouldn’t one day say “sit down Skippy” and some other day “Skippy down”. It has to be consistent.

Multiple whistles allow instant access to more than just one sound. You can issue commands programmed for 2 dogs or use sound combination.

As soon as your dog will understand your commands you can focus on the dog training using whistle sound only. This way your only your dog will know what they mean.
