Embroidery is a fun and relaxing craft that is useful for making beautiful artwork. This guide will show you the perfect stitches for beginners, but it also looks impressive. First, we'll start with running seams. This is a very basic stitch, though boring. However, stitching goes very easily and is the basis for some really complicated (and more fun) stitches introduced later.

I learned to embroider with this first stitch after I was inspired by the cute design I found in this book, Doodle Stitching. To this day, Doodle Stitching is one of my favorite embroidery books. If you want some trendy design motives to get you started, I highly recommend this book.
